The iPage is a green hosting company and it provides the Free domain name and Free SSL certificate.
The iPage control panel is very good. Not only do you get access to support links, website preferences, email options, file management, logs, security, domains, databases, and software services but you also get ready access to website builders, traffic and account statistics, and account information.
Shared Hosting
iPage has a single shared, Linux-based hosting plan, which starts at $2.99 per month for the one-year plan. That's an attractive price, one that makes iPage one of our favorite cheap web hosting services. As with other annual-based plans, the monthly prices drop as you agree to longer plans. iPage's shared hosting features unlimited disk space, monthly data transfers, and email addresses, so it has the chops to grow along with your business.
WordPress Hosting
iPage also likes to keep things simple when it comes to its WordPress packages and only offers two of them to choose from. The prices are pretty good but these aren’t managed plans and the features are a bit underwhelming.
The WP Starter package only costs $3.75/mo ($7.39/moon renewal) and comes with a free domain name for 1 year, unlimited storage, and a few pre-installed themes and plugins. Interestingly enough, in this case, iPage mentions that the bandwidth is unlimited, even though it shows the same description you can see if you look at the shared hosting plan’s scalable bandwidth.
VPS Hosting
If you’re in the market for a VPS (virtual private server) you have three different packages at your disposal. Prices here range between $16.99 and $67.99 per month on a 2-year contract but you can also pay on a yearly or monthly basis. The cheapest package is pretty standard and comes with a single-core CPU, 1 GB of RAM, 1 TB of bandwidth, 40 GB of storage, and 1 dedicated IP address. You won’t get any extra features by upgrading to one of the more expensive plans but you can expect them to include better resources and an additional dedicated IP.
Dedicated Servers
If you got the gist of how virtual private servers work you’ll know exactly what to expect here. There are once again three plans to choose from, this time around with prices ranging between $119.99 and $191.99 per month. The prices here are a bit higher than the market average when you take into account the number of resources you get in exchange. Namely, the starter package comes with a dual-core CPU, 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB of storage, 5 TB of bandwidth, and 3 dedicated IP addresses.
Domain Emails
iPage is a bit stingy when it comes to emails but at least you do get an @yourdomain mailbox for free. The company only gives out a single address per domain so if you want more than that, you’re going to have to buy them. Conveniently, iPage gives users the option of adding a professional G Suite account to their plan. For an extra fee of course. Adding a G Suite account will set you back $6 per month, per user.
Free SSL Certificate
SSL certificates are a must-have in modern websites. Identity theft and hacking have run rampant in recent years. Thus, people expect sites to offer some form of protection. An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between the server and the visitor’s device.
These days, web users look out for SSL certificates, so it’s nice that iPage throws one free SSL in with the hosting plan free of charge.
Control Panel
While most of today’s web hosting service providers elect more well-known control panels like cPanel and Plesk, iPage has opted for vDeck. Though it may not be as popular, it is just as good when it comes to simplifying the often complex task of administering a website. vDeck provides a simple way to manage all the vital aspects of your account.
It is the tool that is utilized to set up email accounts, upload files to the server, create a new database, and even incorporate the free add-on programs that are available to you. This software may not have the fanfare of cPanel, but quite a few believe that it delivers the same perks and then some.
Security
It goes without saying but security is paramount for any website or online asset. If a Webhosting site can’t provide excellent security and stay on top of the latest cybersecurity threats, don’t waste your money.
iPage on the other hand is locked down tight.
iPage web hosting achieves its fortress-like security with a pooled structure, firewalls, database lockdowns, encryption practices, and a system admin team with mad skills and dedication to security at all costs.
iPage web hosting’s NOC (network operations center) is designed to swiftly detect security breaches and is capable of locking down any security holes as soon as they become apparent.
Customer Support
iPage’s Essential package is rich in features and functionality, but where this veteran web host really shines is in the customer support department. Support is available through a variety of channels, including toll-free phone, email, and live chat, an increasingly popular trend in the hosting industry.
